Took this photo of an Eurasian Eagle-Owl yesterday in a small game park , with ca.-5 Degrees Celsius, and snowing. The owl did not like me and kind of gave me the stare. But I nice shot, I guess… Lens is Canon 300mm prime lens.

These birds are quite amazing, and you have to see them fly, and listen carefully: They fly soundless. Great invention of nature, and a very large bird, by the way…

Here`s to you, all you pasionate bird lovers out there. The photo of this Social Weaver I took in Namibias Etosha National Park, close to the camp site at the maingate, called Okaukuejo. The weaver birds live in communal, monumental nests. They are seen all over Namibia, and not very shy. Though, a photo is difficult, as they move very fast and light conditions up in the trees are not easy, too.

Hier ein Foto aus Namibia, und zwar in der Nähe des Campingplatzes von Okaukuejo. Der afrikanische Webervogel baut sehr grosse, monumentale Nester und lebt gemeinschaftlich in sehr grossen Schwärmen. Foto ist gemacht mit einem Canon L 100-400 Zoomobjektiv, bei schwierigen Lichtbedingungen, da das Nest den halben Baum bedeckt, und die Vögel sehr flink und ruhelos sind. Diese Art des Webervogels ist endemisch für Namibia.
